We are tackling the Welsh 3 Peaks Challenge for mental health

In line with our commitment to support Mind (mental health charity), we are tackling the famous Welsh 3 Peaks Challenge on the 2nd of July; aiming to raise a minimum of £1,000 for this great charity.

The Welsh 3 Peaks Challenge

The aforementioned 3 Peaks of Wales are Snowdon, Cadair Idris & Pen-Y-Fan – the three most famous mountains in Wales. In total, this challenge includes a walking distance of 17 miles (27.4km) and an ascent of 2334 metres (7657ft), which we must complete within 24 hours, or less.

We will begin our ascent of the first mountain (Snowdon) at 5am, aiming to complete this climb in 5 hours. Next, we will travel to the second mountain (Cadair Idris), which we estimate will take around 4 hours. Lastly, we will make our way to the third and final mountain (Pen-Y-Fan), aiming to complete this within 2 hours.

We anticipate to be walking for around 11 hours and spend roughly 8.5 hours travelling – this challenge is no mean feat!

We have a five-strong team of walkers; Rebecca Kinsey, Nicole Hunt, Jonathan Smart, Oliver Costello & Debora Farrell. Our team are ready for the challenge, highly motivated by the prospect of raising vital funds for such a fantastic cause, we will be supporting them all the way!

Who are Mind and why are supporting them?

Mind is a charity that assists those suffering from mental health by providing advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. They also campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding.

Mental Health is a serious issue in the UK and it is an illness which has closely impacted members of our team, making the decision to assist Mind an easy one.

If you would like to support our efforts in raising money for mental health, we would be very grateful. Please click here to visit our fundraising page.
