Well, how could we resist? With our business name Insight Law, one of our team members suggested our raft should be named ‘Insight Oar’ – what a great name!
We entered the St David’s Hospice Care Monmouth Raft Race for the first time – and we were delighted with the teamwork and support received. Our rafters were co owners Simon Fox and Paul Jones plus Rebecca Kinsey and Lindsey Bowles. And what a job they did! What difference does it make, you may ask, if it’s raining – you’re on a raft. In a river! But after 3 hours of non-stop paddling our rowers were tired and cold but still full of great spirits as they were focused on raising money for a great cause.
‘It was only fair that both Paul and I took part in this, first ever raft race entry for Insight Law’ said Simon Fox, ‘We were really pleased with the enthusiasm for the project from our teams in both Cardiff and Bristol. The raft build was fun but we were a bit sceptical about how buoyant the raft might be as we didn’t test it until the day so we all held our breath as we started rowing’. Paul Jones continued, ‘The team were fantastic both for the build and on the day, so much support was much needed on a wet and cold day. We really enjoyed the event and we will definitely enter again next year, though we might put a bit more thought and planning into our raft so that we can be more competitive.’
The 2018 Monmouth Raft Race takes place on 2nd September and will again support St David’s Hospice Care, Insight Law’s chosen charity.
