Last Friday saw the team mount a stationary bike and peddle for a total of 180 miles (the distance from Cardiff to Bangor), finishing in roughly 10 ½ hours – smashing our 12-hour target!
In total, 15 members of the team took part, and everyone gave it their all for the duration of their allocated time – it was a great effort all round!
This challenge certainly wasn’t easy, and we weren’t helped by the technical difficulties we faced along the way, but we didn’t let it affect our flow and kept pushing. The aching was eased by a (well-deserved) pizza and celebratory drinks in Cardiff afterwards.
We set this challenge with the aim of raising as much money as possible for our charity, St David’s Hospice Care. We’ve supported St David’s for several years and have a close relationship with the team, the great things they do for the local community speaks for itself.
The money raised from our cycling efforts brings our total up to £335 of the £1,000 target! If you read our previous blog, you’ll know we set 3 challenges to meet our target figure. We’ve completed our bake sale, and now the cycle, so that leaves us with the Monmouth Raft Race on the 1st of September – we hope to see you there.
