Fundraising – great work and fun too

 

After much deliberation we decided to focus on two amazing charities during 2017 and we’ve created a diary of events which allows all staff to support in some way.

St David’s Hospice Care, with a head office off Malpas Road in Newport, provides end of life care to those with cancer or life threatening illnesses. Caring for over 3,200 patients every year the charity effectively raises funds through a network of retail shops and a full calendar of events to suit all types of fundraisers.

Emmaus South Wales has been working to end homelessness since 1949 and is funded via a combination of social enterprise, housing benefits and retail shops across South Wales (and the UK). Working with companions in a supportive and empowering environment, Emmaus focuses on helping those who need it with day to day living support and work based activities.

‘Both charities carry out excellent work’ said Gemma Monday, Partner and Head of Residential Conveyancing at Insight Law LLP ‘we really wanted to help and support local charities and there are so many great ones to choose from. Ultimately you have to make a decision and get started’. Gemma who has worked for Insight Law since 2014 continued ‘Our team has really committed to our chosen charities and we’ve got some great activities planned including abseiling off Newport Transporter Bridge and clothes donations. We’ve got a lot planned for the year ahead and we’ll keep you updated on our progress’.
